A parents' guide to Chamlija Kids
Everything you need to know about our children's magazine for ages 4–12 and Chamlija Kite for pre-schoolers.

Chamlija Kids Magazine (ages 4–12)
What is Chamlija Kids Magazine?
- Chamlija Kids is a printed children's magazine made in South Africa for kids aged 4 to 12. Each quarterly issue is full of stories, comics, science facts, crafts, recipes and puzzles that children can read, cut, colour and enjoy again and again.
What age is Chamlija Kids for?
- The main magazine is written for curious children aged 4 to 12. Younger readers enjoy it with a parent, while older children can read the stories, facts and activities on their own.
How often does a new issue come out?
- A new issue comes out every three months — four issues a year, one every season. Past issues stay available to buy.
How much does it cost?
- An annual subscription is R360 for 4 printed issues. A single printed issue (including back issues) is R95, and an e-magazine is R45 per issue. Delivery is R30 per printed magazine, or R120 for the four annual deliveries. E-magazines have no delivery fee.
Why choose a printed magazine instead of screen time?
- Chamlija Kids has no ads and no apps. It gives children screen-free fun that builds reading, vocabulary and critical thinking, with hands-on activities families can do together at home.
Can schools get the magazine?
- Yes. R120 funds one magazine for a school child. Contact us on WhatsApp at +27 71 970 2117 or book a call for school orders.

Chamlija Kite (pre-school supplement)
What is Chamlija Kite?
- Chamlija Kite is our free pre-school supplement for the youngest readers. It has gentle stories and simple activities for little ones who are just starting out.
Is Chamlija Kite included with the magazine?
- Yes. Every printed issue of Chamlija Kids arrives with Chamlija Kite at no extra cost, so families with a pre-schooler and an older child get something for both.
What is in the current Chamlija Kite?
- This season's Chamlija Kite is “Snowflake's Hide and Seek Adventure”, with a gentle story and playful activities for pre-school children.
